A Proud Initiative of an Army Officer

About the Founder

Mr. Colonel DK Dass is a hard core ‘Fauji’ as he was not only born into a defence family (Father being an Air Force officer) but also did his schooling from the premier residential public school, the ‘Rashtriya Military School, Bangalore’ (erstwhile King George School, established in 1945 by King George VI, the King of Great Britain). After graduating from Delhi University, he joined the Army; finally taking premature retirement as a Colonel. While in active service he has had a challenging career as a Gunner (Artillery); having been posted to Sikkim on the Chinese border, to the icy glaciers of Siachen, on the highly volatile LOC and a hotbed of terrorism in Kupwara sector in the Valley, and to a few non-descript towns and small cantonments. He has also had the distinction of serving in Directorate General of Quality Assurance under Min of Def. After leaving the Army, he joined the Rotary Club of Delhi South Metropolitan under RI District 3010 as a member and was bestowed with Paul Harris Fellowship. He was elected as the President of his Club in 2011-12. During his tenure the Club as well as the President were awarded with the prestigious ‘Diamond Club’ and ‘Diamond President’ Awards respectively by the Governor RID 3010. He also received a ‘Commendation Card’ from the President Rotary International, headquartered at Connecticut USA, for his dedication and selfless services rendered to the society. He also founded an NGO, ‘Sachhet’ (meaning ‘Being Alert’ in hindi and a tagline ‘Empowering through Awareness’) alongwith four other Army officers and has organized a number of humanitarian projects, including a few international projects in association with another NGO, People’s Institute for Development and Training (PIDT).
